Runeword issues with recipe items?

Hey Volf, thanks for a cool little mod, for those wanting to play kind of like the original thing, but with some quirks :)
Im currently having alotta trouble making runewords proper.
If i use SOCK B , or SOCK C, to socket an item, and then scrabble the runes, put the runes in correct order, and i don't get a runeword what could i be doign wrong?
I tried SOCK B on a normal stag bow, to get 3 sockets, and tried Edge (TIR + TAL + AMN), but it didn't seem to work.
Do runewords only work with natural ammount of socketS?
